Yaraändoo Ski Club is a non-profit co-operative that exists for the promotion of alpine activities, including snow sports in winter, and summer activities such as walking, bike riding and fishing.
The club was formed in 1961, and soon after this a ski lodge was built at Perisher within the Kosciuszko National Park to provide members with on-snow accommodation.
The club has been particularly successful in introducing snow sports to three or four generations of many families. During this time the club has seen the development of expert skiers and snowboarders that have gone on to compete at national levels and at international locations. Furthermore, a number of people who have learnt to ski through the club have gone on to have successful careers as ski instructors in Australia, the USA and in Europe.
